Ms Cooke has also congratulated and welcomed the newest citizens to the region.
Ms Cooke released a statement for her electorate that read:
Australia Day sees the efforts of countless hard-working volunteers in our small towns and villages recognised through nominations for various awards.
Volunteers are the heart of our communities and have shown immense resilience in the face of what has been a difficult two years for many, proving strength and hope for the future.
I would like to congratulate all of the Australia Day Honours recipients right across the Cootamundra electorate, your passion and dedication to serving the community does not go unnoticed.
Whether you have received an Order of Australia, Emergency Services Medal or Australian Fire Service Medal, I would like to thank you all for your ongoing service which is fundamental in keeping community spirit alive in our regional areas.
Australia Day is also a time where we welcome our newest citizens with open arms who like all of us, are proud to officially call this country home.
I am delighted that you have chosen this place to build your future.
Despite all the challenges we have experienced as a nation, groups and individuals, I look ahead with hope and optimism for what is to come.
