A woman from Young has been charged with alleged weapons and drug-related offences by local officers from the Young Police Station.
According to police they found weapon and drug related items after they issued a search warrant on a Hill Street, Young property on Thursday.
"About 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday 27 January 2022), officers attached to the Hume Police District executed a search warrant at a home at Hills Street, Young," a Young Police spokesperson said.
"During the search, police seized more than 7g of methylamphetamine (ice), cannabis leaf, prescription medication, three maces (weapons), more than $7000 cash and a mobile phone."
Police have said that all items taken into police custody will undergo further examination.
Police arrested a woman connected to the property and charged her with a number of offences.
"A 53-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Young Police Station, where she was charged with possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, possess/attempt to prescribed restricted substance, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, deal with property proceeds of crime, and owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises," police said.
The woman from Young appeared in Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Friday 28 January 2022) where she was formally refused bail to appear in Young Local Court on Tuesday 1 February 2022.
The latest arrest follows on from two males who were charged earlier this week with drug related offences.
Police issued a search warrant on a Brock Street, Young property where they are alleged to have found a number of items that resulted in charges being laid against a 21-year-old man and a 42-year-old man.
According to police the 21-year-old male was arrested and charged with Supply Prohibited Drug, Possession of Prohibited Drug and Deal with proceeds of Crime.
"The 21-year-old male was bail refused and will appear at Young Local Court for Mention on Tuesday 1st February 2022," police said.
The 42-year-old male was charged and served with a Court Attendance Notice for the offences of Possession Prohibited Drug and Cultivate Prohibited Plants.
"The 42-year-old male will appear at Young Local Court on 15th March 2022," police said.
