Assistant principal and dean of studies Patricia Hales said the accolade was recognition for the students hard work and passion.
“These students are really well-rounded, they were focused from year 11 and understood the Higher School Certificate is a marathon, not a sprint,” Ms Hales said.
“It’s also a reward for the teachers who lead and mentor our students and who always go the extra mile.”
The school’s tally of five students on the Top Achievers list – for pupils who earned a ranked place in a subject as well as a mark over 90 – is on par with Merewether High, which also had five students on the list.
Maitland Grossman High had four students on the list including Ben Muddle, who was the only student in the region to appear twice. He achieved first place in Entertainment Industry exam and 6th place in Design and Technology.
St Francis Xavier’s also had five students on the list last year, up from one in 2013. Read more here
