NETBALL
By ROBYN KENNY
Forbes Netball Association held an extremely successful day of netball last Sunday, in perfect weather conditions.
The FNA hosted more than 500 players and officials from across three regions.
The annual Forbes All Age and representative carnival is one of the strongest in the region, and has been running every year since the association was formed in 1975.
Forbes was represented by six teams during the day, with three teams in the 11 under division, 12 reps, 13 reps and 14 reps.
The Forbes representative teams are preparing for the Netball NSW Junior State Titles to be held in Penrith in July.
Teams travelled from Cowra, Blayney, Orange, Bathurst, Yass, Young, Parkes, Warren, West Wyalong with host town Forbes.
A huge crowd of over 2,000 packed the Stephen Field grounds during the day.
Games started at 8.30am and continued throughout the day, concluding at 3.30, with teams each playing seven games of netball.
Ages ranged from 9-11 years, to 17 Reps and Open ladies division, with games played all day on 10 courts.
A huge thank you to Forbes Shire Council for the preparation of Stephan Field.
