Young Witness
Young’s first newspaper Burrangong Argus commenced in 1864 and in 1931 changed to The Young Witness. In 1961 it was renamed The South West News, published by a Guiliano family, then reverted to The Witness in 1993
The Young Witness proudly serves a vibrant city of 11,000, and expanded Hilltops Council region incorporating former Boorowa and Harden Murrumburrah Shires making a combined population of 19,000.
Popularly known as the ‘Cherry Capital of Australia,’ Young is situated in the NSW Hilltops region, producing stone fruit, wine, grain and sheep production.
Secondary industries include manufacturing and meat processing, supported by a strong retail centre and professional services.
