A Canowindra dairy team has won Sydney Royal's best presented team of over five head in their breed. Dr Ellen Downes and her family won the Best Maintained Illawarra Team over five head - an achievement she attributed to a whole team effort.

This award is based on how well presented the cattle team is throughout the Sydney Royal, which includes everything from the cattle, the bedding, the display and how the stall is set up.

"Those awards reflect the contribution of everybody involved and that's what makes that award special," Dr Downes said.

Dr Downes has had a long association with Sydney Royal, particularly with some of the fun competitions of the dairy section including calf dress up and hand milking.
