These are the prices in Young for today, January 20. The district prices are the average prices recorded by NRMA yesterday. We have been unable to collect Harden's prices.
We've been comparing local fuel prices from last Monday and Tuesday, which averaged about 132 cents per litre for unleaded petrol.
Today's average price in Young is 119.7 cents per litre.
It's also the first time since we began our fuel campaign that our average price is lower than that of Temora and Yass, whose averages today are 121.5 and 123.4 respectively.
Over the last two days we have seen a big drop in prices since last week.
The Road House on the Olympic Highway again takes the crown for reducing their unleaded price the most (by 15 cents) compared to last Tuesday when they were charging 131.9.
Today their price remains at 116.9 cents, as it has since last Friday.
The Shell Service Station on the corner of Main and Short streets takes the next biggest drop, by 14 cents, charging 119.9 compared to 133.9 last Tuesday.
They're also charging four cents less than what they were yesterday, to make today's price their lowest since last Monday.
Both Woolworths (E10) and Mobil in Nasmyth Street are 12 cents cheaper today than this time last week, charging 117.9 and 119.9 respectively.
Mobil jumped up by two cents yesterday compared to their price on Friday but today reverted back.
Caltex, who dropped a further two cents from their unleaded price today to sit on 123.9, is 11 cents cheaper than what they were charging last Tuesday.
While BP - who is also at their cheapest today since we began our fuel campaign, dropping seven cents overnight to charge 119.9 - is 10 cents cheaper than this time last week.
Today Young's average still remains 15.4 cents higher than Sydney's average of 104.3.
But it's a more favourable gap than yesterday when it was 17.5 cents difference and last Tuesday when it was 22 cents higher.
Sydney's average continues to fall by an average of 1.03. cents per day.
Surrounding areas also continue to drop - Cootamundra by a further 2.5 cents to charge 126.9, Forbes by one cent to make 116.2, Temora by 0.4 cents to charge 121.5 and Wagga by 0.1 cent to sit on 127.2.
Yass is the only town whose average has increased by 2.9 cents to charge 123.4 per litre for unleaded petrol.
