Canowindra local Annette Thomas has taken on a heartfelt challenge this month, walking 175 kilometers as part of the “Step Up to Breast Cancer” challenge.
Beginning on August 1, Ms Thomas has already completed over 65 kilometers, with the journey bringing both personal meaning and widespread community support.
Ms Thomas’ motivation stems from personal experiences and the impact breast cancer has had on those around her.
“My partner’s mum passed away from breast cancer, and I’ve had good friends who have passed away as well,” Ms Thomas said.
“A few of the ladies at golf have had breasts removed because of breast cancer.
