A man has been charged after he allegedly used a stick as a firearm to threaten a neighbour in the state’s south last Friday.
On Friday 30 May, police were called to a unit block on East Street, Grenfell, following reports a man was in possession of a firearm.
The nearby Grenfell High School was put into lockdown while on arrival officers attached to The Hume Police District were told a man had allegedly pointed a long object covered in a jumper at a neighbour before making threats and leaving the scene.
Following inquiries, police located and arrested a 54-year-old man nearby.
During the arrest police located a jumper containing a stick which police believe was the item used during the incident.

The man was taken to Young Police Station where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (two counts).
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Young Local Court on Wednesday 9 July 2025.
