FROM a small town rugby union club to the Australian School Boys rugby union side; it’s safe to say Young’s Angus Crichton (pictured) is steadily working his way up the ranks.

The former Young Public School student - now 18 years old - was selected for the side after playing in the Scots College First XV side.
He worked his way up the ranks into the Greater Private Schools (GPS) system, before being selected for the NSW First XV side.
It was here Crichton was spotted by selectors and chosen to compete in the Australian School Boys squad.
Although a talented sportsperson, Crichton’s selection didn’t come without a lot of hard work and dedication.
Crichton has played in Sydney’s Scots College First XV team for the past three years. A high standard union side who won the GPS premiership in 2013 and are currently sitting on top of the ladder with two games left in the season.
Crichton has also played a strong role in the GPS First XV team for two years, this year stepping up and taking on the captains role.
During the school’s off season the teenager spent his time training and playing with the NRL Roosters Under 18 and Under 20 sides.
But for Crichton being selected for the Australian team for the second year in a row definitely takes the cake.
"It's exciting to have the chance to travel overseas with a great bunch of blokes, and I'm looking forward to playing some tough games," Crichton said.
Crichton will begin his tour in September when he heads to New Zealand to go head-to-head with Fiji and New Zealand sides.
The versatile player, who often finds himself in the centre, will instead be playing in the back row where his strength will be put to good use.
From here Crichton will make the tough decision of what direction he wants to take in his sporting career, whether it be to play league or union.
He will also face the challenge of deciding which club he will play for based on who gives him the best options for his future. He also wants to attend university.
"As his parents we are extremely proud of his achievements both on and off the rugby pitch and we will continue to support him with whatever decision he makes,” Crichton’s mother Pip said.
“It is inspiring to watch a young person show such enormous dedication and commitment."
