The recognition comes after considerable ongoing changes to the running of the club over the last quarter (April-June) that resulted in improved finances, and positive community engagement and partnerships within the community.
PCYC manager Martin Langfield and youth case manager Senior Constable Karen Clark attended the meeting in Goulburn on August 19 where they were presented the award by Inspector Colin Moore.
It is the third award the PCYC has received over the past two quarters. An effort manager Martin Langfield is proud of.
“It’s good because the Young Club has been a troubled club, so to be recognised for working together toward our common goal of keeping kids active in life and working to achieve that goal is really good,” he said.
“It’s good to be recognised that we’ve turned a lot of things around.”
The award comes only three months after two of Young’s members, youth case manager Senior Constable Karen Clark, and volunteer Scott Macgregor received awards for their efforts at the facility.
The PCYC has now switched their focus to their after school care program that has been established in the facility using funds raised from the Time4Kidz fundraiser.
“We are very happy with it, we can offer the kids a broader range of activities than most providers can,” Martin said.
The facility will also be working toward offering new activities to the public including growing sporting programs and building on them further.
