The grand final was of a very high level in both the men’s and the mixed competition that was won by the youngest teams in the comp YSB and Cooper’s Troopers, who were able to take it over the more experienced Empire Dragons and Empire Skinny Deros.
Will they make it into the grand final again this season or will there be even better teams in the competition?
It is anticipated that there is going to be a big competition this year, with a lot of interest and discussion.
This year organisers will also introduce a junior competition for four to 12 years as a skill development and games-based session.
The individual registrations for juniors will take place this week on Thursday, September 18 from 4pm-6pm at Judges Pharmacy, followed by another on Saturday, September 20 from 10am-11am.
We would like to thank Judge’s Pharmacy for being the major sponsor of the junior section of touch football, being Judge’s juniors.
There are two age divisions, 4-7 years and 8-12 years with different focuses of each. Individual registration is $50 per player. What a great price for a season full of skills and game play.
We would also like to remind seniors, who are individuals over 12 years, that the nominations for mixed, men’s and ladies are now open and team registrations are due next week.
You can grab a form at the Empire Hotel, or collect them from Ben Cooper at Young High School or Jess McInerney at Hennessy Catholic College. For more particulars about team nominations please see the forms.
This year we are hoping for the return of a big men’s and mixed competition and look forward to new teams entering and having fun getting fit with your friends in a great social environment.
