As readers may recall Bubbles, a soft toy belonging to a day care centre in Brisbane, was lost by his three-year-old carer Oliver and his family in August.
The well-travelled little creature was being taken for a trip to the snow on this occasion, but had previously planted feet in English soil and further north on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland.
So the call went out via Facebook and The Witness.
Pretty soon a Crowther farmer Murray Callaghan called up and said he had Bubbles.
He’d discovered the toy outside IGA and, thinking it had been abandoned, took it home as a potential mascot for his hay baler.
One he realised Bubbles was in fact, lost, he snapped some farm photos for the kids and Bubbles was dispatched back to Brisbane with a chronicle of his experiences.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
We would like to say a massive THANK YOU for all your help in finding Bubbles the Platypus. It Truly ment (sic) so much to us that you would invest so much time in finding him. The children are so grateful to have him back home with us and love to look at the pictures of his time on the farm and in your office.
