The Criterion Hotel Coyotes hosted Grenfell at Alfred Oval.
After skipper Geoff Palmer won the toss and elected to bat first the Coyotes were in a spot of trouble early after losing Josh Carmody (4) and the skipper Geoff Palmer (0) early.
Duncan Cameron (58) then combined with Ben Allen (22) to rebuild the innings, and despite the loss of Allen the resurrection of the innings continued when Ben Murray joined Cameron at the crease.
Murray fell just seven short of his half century, before Duncan Camerons’ innings came to an end. The tail was cleaned up quickly as they searched for quick runs towards the later part of their allotted overs eventually posting 208.
Grenfell started their run chase well however three wickets a piece to Kyle McGovern (3-28) and Brett Humphries (3-30) helped put the visitors in a spot of bother as they faulted in the run chase to be bowled out for 149.
The win lifting the Coyotes into top spot on the Cowra District Cricket Association ladder.
Across town at Cranfield Oval the Young Services Club Blues took on the Bowling Club with a top four spot on the line.
The Bowling Club won the toss and elected to bat first, however the decision looked to back fire almost immediately as the Blues took control of the match with some disciplined bowling.
Nick Corbett (2-11), and Jonte Powderly (2-33) bowled well as they picked up multiple wickets however it was Josh Platt (4 for 15) who was the stand out bowler while Ben Lucas took three catches as the Bowling Club were dismissed for 96.
Jonte Powderly started the run chase well blasting his way to 38 before being dismissed, before Luke Cosgrove finished off the run chase in fashion with an unbeaten 39.
The six points earned from the win enough to secure the Blues a top four position in the Sports Power Cup, with both A Grade teams again playing at home next weekend – this time against each other at Alfred Oval where any of the top four teams can finish top of the table.
