A WOMAN who pleaded guilty to concealing information from police about a bungled break-in that caused a disastrous furniture store fire at Young has been placed on a nine-month good behaviour bond.

Amy McIntosh, 28, was also given a seven-month suspended jail sentence in Wagga Local Court on Friday after pleading guilty to entering a building (the Furniture One store) in September last year and denying knowledge of her defacto’s break-in that led to the fire.
McIntosh’s defacto, Allan Wayne Schodde, has admitted his actions caused the fire that destroyed the Turner’s Furniture One store on September 27, 2014.
Sparks from an angle grinder he used to try to steal a safe from the store fell into carpet and started a fire after Schodde left the building.
According to agreed facts tendered to Wagga Local Court, McIntosh answered a telephone summons from Schodde and drove her car to the furniture store.
The boot was opened, with Schodde planning to put the safe in the boot, but he could not manage it.
He is listed for sentence in Wagga District Court in September.
