Pauline, the local Adina Unit leader, was last month praised for over 47 years’ hard work and dedication to the Girl Guides movement.
The award recognises outstanding service and contribution to the development of girl-guiding.
Not only has Pauline been inspiring local girls and women for many years, but she has also actively engaged with local community and not-for-profit organisations, including Clean Up Australia Day and Relay for Life.
She’s also attended many international events for Girl Guides, sharing her skills, passion and love for the outdoors with the girl-guiding community in Europe.
Pauline’s dedication to the Girl Guides’ mission “to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members” has been embodied in her continual work to grow Girl Guides in the Young area.
And she’s been responsible for the growth and retention of Girl Guides across regional NSW.
Pauline said she had no idea she was receiving the award.
Young Girl Guides Maminya Unit leader Beth Rothe said Pauline was an exemplary leader.
“As a fellow Guide leader, to be acknowledged and recognised by WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) is fantastic,” she said.
“It’s a real honour.”
