POLICE were called to an incident in Zouch Street last Saturday where thieves had tried to set a car on fire.

The car had been parked and secured by its owner at the Young address at 4pm on Friday afternoon.
The following morning the owner came out, tried to unlock the car door, but was unable to.
Once entry was gained to the vehicle the owner discovered its interior had been partially destroyed by fire.
A sound system installed in the vehicle had also been stolen.
Police attended the scene to assess the situation, discovering a large amount of damage to the footwells in the rear passenger seat.
