Police were called to a separate shoplifting incident in Young at a department store in Boorowa Street on Thursday about 2.30pm.

Officers spoke with a 57-year-old woman from Grenfell who had been detained at the store.

They conducted a search of the woman's handbag and inside police located 10 pairs of ladies underwear. 

The woman was arrested and conveyed to Young Police Station where she was charged with shoplifting. 

She is to appear in Young Local Court on January 5.
