Corey Power killing: three committed

Annette Heather Allen, Thomas Charles McGill and Tamsin Marie Paul all appeared in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday and waived their right to a committal hearing.

They chose, instead, to have their cases go straight to the district court for arraignment.

The cases were stood over to a district court telephone callover of cases on April 27.

Allen is the mother of 21-year-old Owen Fuller, who pleaded guilty in Wagga Wagga Local Court on December 16 last year to the murder of 33-year-old Mr Power at Young on August 29, 2013.

Undisputed facts tendered to the court after the plea was accepted said Fuller smashed Mr Power’s face in after luring him into the street in the early hours of the morning.

“I done it … I murdered Corey Power … I hit him in the head repeatedly with the blunt end of a tomahawk,” Fuller said during an interview with NSW police the day after he was arrested in Queensland.

According to the facts, Fuller killed Mr Power after a dispute arose about Mr Power selling a generator Fuller stole but not giving the thief any of the proceeds.

Fuller is listed for arraignment in the Supreme Court on April 4.

McGill is Fuller’s brother, while Paul is McGill’s partner.

Allen, McGill and Paul are also charged with being accessories after the fact of an armed robbery Fuller committed nine days before killing Mr Power.

Fuller bailed up an attendant at the Young Caltex service station while armed with a crowbar and stole $500 and numerous packets of cigarettes.

He admitted to that crime and several other offences in Wagga Local Court on March 9.

Those matters were adjourned to the April 5 sittings of Wagga Local Court.

Allen, McGill and Paul have not entered pleas to the two charges laid against each of them.

Nathan Blundell, who is also charged with Mr Power’s murder, will face court again next Wednesday.
