The Lions travel to Wagga on Sunday where they take on Wagga United at Rawlings Park.
Last time the teams met in Round 5 Young produced an 8-nil win over their opponents who’ve only won one game this season in comparison to Young’s four.
Captain Patricia Dawe said she won’t get caught up in those statistics and will head into the game with a competitive frame of mind.
“We’d like to see a repeat of our last encounter but we know we’ll have to knuckle down due to a rotation of positions,” she said.
Young is without several regular players this weekend who will be replaced by Jemma Long and Sam Edwards.
While a win would still leave Young significantly lower than next best Henwood Park, it would broaden the gap between trailing South Wagga in sixth.
The First Grade men will have a night game at Rawlings Park, Wagga at 7pm on Saturday. They’ll take on fourth-placed Henwood Park.
