Friends Mel Hewson and Elizabeth Glover said the community has already rallied around Haley and her little family during the stressful time, and are now calling on others to help raise funds by supporting the latest fundraiser, “Intimate Night for Haley at the Prov”.
“Everyone has been very generous with gifts and donations,” Liz said.
“Originally being from the city, it’s always been a beautiful thing to see how generous locals are at supporting their own, there’s a real feeling of community in Young.”
And so combined with the support of Anneleise Chambers of the Providore Cafe, the duo are delighted to be able to host this intimate night for Haley at the Providore Cafe this Thursday evening, October 13.
It's cocktails and canapés and a chance to get your hands on some beautiful gifts.
Tickets, at $75, for the evening, are limited and can be purchased by contacting the team at the Prov.
“Funds raised will go toward ongoing medical bills and life in general,” Mel said.
Liz, a good friend of Haley's, is using her artistic skills to support the appeal.
“I thought it’d be a good opportunity to use my skill as an opportunity to throw some colour on canvas,” she said.
A silent auction is being held for three paintings by Liz that will be auctioned on the night.
“If anyone would like to buy a piece of art before the event, please contact the Prov Cafe or myself through Facebook and put in a bid for a piece of work,” Liz said.
“I will match that with another painting for the evening. The generosity of people still astounds me.”
If you can’t attend but would like to show your support, a GoFundMe page has been set up in support of Haley.
