Year 6 Young Public School student, Annabel Smith, will join thousands of students from across NSW as they attempt a Guinness Book of Records world record attempt at the Schools Spectacular this week. If successful they will secure the record for ‘the largest amateur theatre cast’.
Annabel is the only student from Young to take part in this year’s event that doubles as the biggest-ever show in the Schools Spectacular’s 33-year history.
Annabel has found her place in the choir section of the event after successfully making her way through the selection process. She has spent this week participating in rehearsals in the QUDOS Bank Arena building at Sydney’s Olympic Park.
Annabel is among more than 5500 performers from across NSW including a 2700-strong choir, 2300 dancers, an 80-piece symphony orchestra, a world-class stage band and more than 40 featured artists.
Young Public School deputy principal, Edwina Wymer, said the school is incredibly proud of Annabel.
“It’s such an honor to be part of the Schools Spectacular,” she said.
