Bradley Cassells has eight arrest warrants out for him and on Wednesday Victoria Police went public in its endeavour to arrest him.
However, rather than handing himself in, Cassells mocked Victoria Police on The Courier’s Facebook post.
On a post sharing his photo and detailing his arrest warrant, Cassells uploaded a “more recent” photo of himself.
It read: “More recent just so you no (sic) what ya (sic) looking for”.
His post drew criticism from other Facebook users, with many people telling him to quit the games and hand himself in.
It is not the first time a wanted Ballarat man has mocked police via social media.
In another instance in October this year, another criminal even took to Facebook to lie about having already been arrested so people stopped looking for him.
At the time, Ballarat Police Superitendent Andrew Allen said such tactics never worked.
"Offenders can try different tactics - but ultimately we hold the cards and it is only a matter of time before they get caught,” he said.
“We have found some wanting to play the system and send us on a merry chase.
“But we have systems in place – and if they want to throw those challenges at us we will certainly chase them up.”
