It was a winning debut for Young’s Brett Norman at Wahgunyah Speedway in Victoria in the Noel McGrath Memorial race on Boxing day.

Driving his recently rebuilt VS Commodore to a comfortable victory, Norman took out the feature race even with a flat tyre in the latter stages of the 20-lap event.
“It was a very satisfying win and one that wasn’t achieved easily, especially with the flat tyre as I had a bit of luck on my side as it rolled off the rim just after I had crossed the finish line,” Norman said.
Norman had moved from the state-based class into the national Production Sedan class only two seasons ago and was rapt to come out on top in the race and is now eyeing the Australian Title.
“I had a big crash at the NSW Title, but it was a blessing in disguise,” Norman said.
Norman’s team had to completely rebuild the car, giving them the opportunity to fix up a number of issues.
“It’s made the world of difference to the car’s performance,” he said.

Norman’s focus is now on the Australian Title at Wahgunyah Speedway on the Friday and Saturday night of January 27 and 28, 2017.
“My win has given me a lot of confidence heading into the Australian Title and my goal is to firstly qualify into the feature race and then hopefully I can contend for a top-10 result,” he said.
