The first session of Bush Poetry for the year will be held at the Young Hotel in Lynch Street Young from 1.30pm on Sunday February 25.
Organisers Greg Broderick and Ted Webber are inviting everyone to come along. Youngsters are welcome and a gold coin donation is optional.
Sunset After Dark – Young will be transformed in a riot of colour and light at the fifth annual Lambing Flat Chinese Festival to be held on Saturday March 24. This year the festival offers some spectacular sunset and after dark events, and an Eat Street brimming with Multicultural food stalls.
The inaugural Sunset Lantern Parade, led by the Australian Yau Kung Mun Association Lion Dancer,s will illuminate the centre of town, with the Lion Dances then presenting the final of three performances at the culmination of the parade at last light, 8.00pm.
Twin Town Business Get Together – Harden and Murrumburrah businesses are being invited to network and plan for the future on Tuesday at the second of two local business get togethers organised by the HRDC. The gathering will be held at DJ’s on Neil from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and Annie Jacobs on 0417 717 075 has more details.
Pink Stumps Day at Wombat – Wombat's first annual Pink Stumps Day and Community Fun Day will be held in the village tomorrow, Saturday February 24.
See the Wombat versus Nubba cricket match, then come back to the Wombat Hotel at 5pm for a sausage sizzle and charity auction, with items including a Glen McGrath signed bat and ball. There will be live music at the oval and the pub with Ryan Cassidy, children’s activities, face painting, raffles and more…
Free Concert Series Today – Well known local performers Julie O’Connor and accompanist Stewart Bruce will make their debut at the Take 5 on Friday’s library concert stage today.
The half hour free concert series at Young Library will be conducted from 12.30pm and everybody is welcome.

A men’s breakfast featuring Tim Fischer AC and a Hilltops Choir Easter Extravaganza Concert are two of the latest events to be listed in the Hilltops Region. The former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia will speak at St John’s Anglican Hall on Saturday March 10, the Hilltops Choir performance will be at 3pm on March 18 at St John’s Anglican Church.
