Mixed results in Pennants

Young Grade 2 defeated Young Grade 4 by 94–50. Dave Quigley won 26–16 against Denis Rosen, Russell Boyd won 28–15 over Colin Stokell and Brian Madden won 40–19 against Harold Anderson.

Young Grade 3 lost to Cootamundra Country Club 53–58. Ged Hardman lost 13–18, Cliff Traynor won 23–11 and Geoff Hines lost 17–29.

Young Grade 5 travelled to Boorowa Recreation Club and lost all three games.

Colin Powell lost 11–30, Mick Manning lost 11–24 and Stuart Freudenstein lost 22–26.

The combined Bribbaree–Young Grade 7 side lost to Harden 52–61 with Trevor Howell’s team the only winners by 20–17.

The semi–finals of the District Triples Championship resulted in comfortable wins to Damien Miller, Brian Madden and Dave Quigley over Bevan McAlister’s team and to Jim White, Roman Bondaruk and John Harriott over Cliff Traynor’s team.

The final was a close contest with the difference in scores rarely more than 2 shots. 

The final score was 24–23 in favour of John Harriott’s team

There was a one game of Club Singles played on Saturday with David Ward proving too strong for Colin Stokell in a 31–19 win.

In Jackpot Bowls the team of Mark Brownlie, Albert Carter and Denis Rosen won the vouchers with a margin of 3 shots. Grant Fuller and Peter Slater won their game by 1 shot.

Twenty two players were involved on Thursday afternoon. As has been the pattern for several weeks the margins for all except one game were close.

The winners for the afternoon were Garry Fish and Tom Preston with the very big margin of 27 shots.

Play in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge ended with Fridays completing the best score on Tuesday night with 15 points.

On Thursday night there were four winning teams on 14 points and Fundernuts on 16 points.

There were certainly some eye–catching costumes for Friday night’s Jack Attack pink theme.

It was a special effort by the teams involved to support Young Can–Assist.

Thanks to those club patrons who also supported the fund–raising on the night.
