About 9.37am on Sunday morning emergency services were called to respond to a truck collision with a power pole on the Blackguard Gully bridge along Whiteman Ave.

According to one witness to the incident a semi-trailer was travelling along Murringo Road/Whiteman Ave when there was a loud bang and the power lines began to shake.
Upon arrival to the scene the witness said the power pole was snapped in half and hanging precariously with at least one line on the ground.
The witness said they contacted 000 immediately with police arriving very shortly after.
According to officers from Young Police Station a B-Double was travelling west along Whiteman Ave towards town.
As the driver approached the bridge there were vehicles slowing to give way to traffic and the driver of the truck has braked.
As the truck has braked the trailer has kicked out or jack-knifed colliding with the power pole.
The trailer suffered damage to the triple bogey.
Police said the driver was issued an infringement notice and the truck was defected and a Roads and Martime Service inspection conducted.
“You could hear the truck flying down the road, then there was a bang and the powerlines started shaking,” one resident said.
Power tools stolen from local tradesman
Young police are seeking assistance after a significant number of power tools were stolen from Karabah Ave over the weekend.
According to local police the tools were removed from the toolbox of a white Mitsuibish Canter parked on Karabah Avenue between 2pm on Saturday July 7 and 8.30am Sunday July 8.
The tools are all very distinctive as they are all Milwaukee brand.
Police said the vehicle was a work vehicle, however the tools were all personally owned by the tradesman victim.
Police are asking anyone who either know anything about the incident, have any information in regards to the missing items or anyone who sees Milwaukee power tools being sold on buy, swap and sell sights, Gumtree, ebay or in person to please contact them.
