The firefighters, who been part of the Young Fire Brigade for more than a decade now, were proud to receive their medals, however they remained humble when talking about their recent achievement.
“It’s actually been about 13 years,” captain Ryan Terry said.
Young Fire Bridge congratulated the pair on its Facebook page.
A number of comments highlighted how grateful the brigade is to have them as part of the team for such a significant period of time, with many more years still to come.
The community of Young were quick to congratulate the men, with the majority of the community being familiar with the two fire fighters.
The pair said they’ve heard from many people who have been extremely appreciative of the work they have both put into their jobs and local community over their 10 plus years in their careers.
Ryan and Russell received their medals at the station last Tuesday.
