Young hospital auxiliary high tea raises vital funds

St John’s Hall was the perfect setting with beautiful floral arrangements, and tables set with fine china, delicious treats and posies of herbs.

Background music provided by the The Accidentals (Penny Ricketts, Jenny Peady and Anita Cacklidge) on cellos, and Tennyson Neville playing the guitar added to the atmosphere.

The raffle first prize, a beautiful quilt Springtime Dreaming pieced and donated by member Debbie Smith was won by Judith Hall.

Second prize, a cashmere poncho from Bush Beautique, beauty products donated by Beauty Spells and jewellery donated by member Suzie Thackeray was won by Cath Mullany. Coral McCormick won third prize, a voucher from The Scissor Sisters.

The Lucky Door prize donated by The General Store was won by Patricia Cant.

President Janice Ward wishes to thank all auxiliary members and the public who helped to set up and pack up, provided cooking, flowers and herbs, and donated prizes.

She would also like to thank the Anglican Church for allowing them to use the Hall and facilities and for all the assistance they gave, and the musicians and the Young Regional School of Music for the music.

“Community support was wonderful, with many raffle tickets being bought and almost 120 people attending,” she said.

The Hospital Auxiliary members were delighted with the results - more than $4000 being raised through the High Tea, sale of Raffle tickets, and sale of boxes of goodies. 

It is remarkable that such a small group can run such an event.

We already are thinking about our Christmas Raffle and our Christmas Stall which will be at Millard’s Centre on December 7 and 8, so please continue to support us.
