Mrs Scott at a morning tea on Friday said she was proud of the achievements of every student in the class, and the staff.
“The results from the class of 2018 are the best we have had and show that students continue to challenge themselves as they learn dynamically,” she said.
The school had its highest percentage of band six results as well and a “significant improvement” in band five results.
“It demonstrates that students are setting goals and then striving to achieve them. Hennessy has moved up 45 places (241st) in the schools ranking for NSW,” Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning, Mrs Sharon Hibbert said.
This is an amazing achievement.”
Bands five and six were achieved by 28 per cent of the year group with six per cent scoring a band six. Two students, Jessica Knapman and Emma Hibbert, recorded band six results in at least 10 units – putting them on the All Rounders achievers list.
“This is the first time Hennessy has had students on this exclusive list,” Sharon Hibbert said.
A further 25 students were placed in the Distinguished Achievers list for being awarded a band six result which is equivalent to a HSC score of 90 per cent or more.
Daniel Perry was also awarded a notional band six for Mathematics Extension 2.
Dux of the college went to Jessica Knapman with an ATAR of 97.4.
Principal Mrs Scott said that these results are outstanding.
“Many of our students have already been offered places at universities before the results were released,” Mrs Scott said.
“A number have already obtained an apprenticeship and others will be pursuing vocational pathways.”
