Corleone King has drawn box five in the Temora Cup 1st Week In March Stakes (457m), a distance he’s never raced before at the track. However, trainers Gary Kimber and Vicki Wilder won’t be concerned, having seen Corleone King flash home over 440m and 520m.

His most recent victory was in the Young Cup on Boxing Day. It was a dominant display from the five box winning by more than six lengths in the 520m final.
The speedster also holds the 347m track record at Young, highlighting that he will be hard to beat if he gets out cleanly on Saturday night. The race also features Corleone King’s kennelmate Strickland who was given a much more friendly box one draw.
Strickland is aiming to chalk up his first win since May last year in the 457m race, and his record from the one box suggests he’ll be a threat. Two of his seven career wins have come in the red rug, and he’s only drawn the inside four times from 38 races.
