This is an initiative of the St Mary’s Year 6 Environmental Parliamentary Group.
Clean Up Australia Day for school takes place each year prior the National Clean Up Australia Day community campaign which in 2019 occurred on Sunday, March 3.
"It is important that students gain a sense of respect for the environment and commit to responsible actions to care for the environment so it doesn't deteriorate," St Mary’s Principal, Andrew Casey said.
"Students at St Mary’s learn about caring for the environment in a number of learning areas within the classroom and it is great to see them taking action."
