On Monday and Tuesday 132 ladies teed up for the VWGA Tournament. The golf course was in pristine condition thanks to our course superintendent Steve Winterton and his band of hard-working volunteers and the weather conditions were perfect for the event.

The 4-ball event on Monday was won by Michele Blizzard and Pammie McCloy with 39 points, followed by Hannah Thorley and Sue Nelson from Chatswood on 38 points.
Tuesday's event was a single Stableford and the best score of the day was recorded by Maxine McCormack in division one with 36, ahead of Chris Keevil on 34.
Division 2/1 was won by Lorraine Regan on 34 with Betty Stanton next on 28. Division 2/2 winner was Kim Soon from Chatswood on 31.
Division three was taken out by Sheila Prater from Chatswood on 30 ahead of Nikki Ireland from Nelson Bay.
One hundred and twenty-five visitors from 25 golf clubs made the trek to Young, some from as far as Murwillumbah, Warren, Newcastle, Nelson Bay and Maitland.
The visitors were most appreciative of a warm country welcome and the opportunity to play on a beautiful, yet challenging golf course.
They enjoyed a fabulous dinner at the Services Club and were most impressed with the professional and friendly service provided at both venues.
Last Saturday 15 ladies were brave enough to take to the course in challenging conditions. The winner in division one was Liz Harding with 34 points on a countback from Wendy Tuckerman.
The division two winner with the best score of the day was Lynne Page with 37 points. The Elegant Timber Shutters and Blinds nearest to the pin was won by Larraine Nicolls.
