Change rooms with showers and a fully accessible toilet are being installed at the north-east corner of the oval, which once completed will be mostly used by the Cherrypickers growing junior league-tag numbers, secretary Donna Dal Molin said.
"There's definitely been a growth in female participation in our sport, which has led to us applying for the grant and then building the facility," Ms Dal Molin said.
"It'll be nice to have a place for the girls to go, get changed, feel comfortable, and have a place for teams to gather and enjoy some pre and post-game socialisation."
The facility was made possible thanks to funding received by the junior league club under round two of the state government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke visited Keith Cullen Oval on Tuesday night to watch the junior league tag teams train and get an update on how the new facility is progressing.
"The club has seen major growth in the number of female players and it had become pretty clear that the changing facilities were no longer coping," Ms Cooke said.
"I think it's fantastic. Whether it's for the home team or Young welcoming other teams in as visitors we have this wonderful facility."
Ms Dal Molin said sports including touch football and cricket will also benefit from the new facility, while a fully accessible toilet will provide access for wheelchair users visiting the oval.
