A man from West Wyalong who had a baton hidden under the passenger seat of his vehicle has been convicted and fined $100.

Benjamin Barnes, 37, told police where the baton was after he was stopped by officers for speeding on the Mid Western Highway near Grenfell about 5.50pm on Saturday, March 17.
Police decided to search the car and asked Barnes if there was anything inside the vehicle that shouldn't be.
He was convicted of possess a prohibited weapon at Young Local Court on Tuesday, May 7.
According to police facts, the baton was 75cm in length with a 10cm handle.

A woman from Young has been placed on a community corrections order.
Jennifer Lee Clark, 43, was convicted at Young Local Court last week after she was charged with assault on November 19 last year.
According to facts, she used the victim's hat to slap them across the face, she then hit them several times in the body.
Police attended and she was later charged with assault.
Magistrate Michael O'Brien described Clark's behaviour as a "psychotic episode fueled by the ingestion of illicit drugs".
"You have expressed shame and remorse," he noted.
The order will be in place for 12 months.
- Drive suspended
A man from Young who drove with a suspended licence has been fined $100.
Tyson Ronald Bernard Paget was convicted at Young Local Court on May 7 after police stopped him driving during February this year.
According to police, they stopped Paget's vehicle about 10.20am on February 2. Inquiries found that his licence was suspended due to fine default.
