Despite strong starts in both halves by the Bulls, the Cherrypickers kept working their way back into the contest.
They cut Southcity's early 18-0 lead to 18-12 at half-time and then levelled things at 30-all with three straight tries in the second half.
In the end a late try to Jake Dooley and Usaia O'Sullivan's second ensured a 42-30 win for the Wagga side.
Southcity captain-coach Kyle McCarthy was relieved to come away with another win.
"It just seemed to be their day luck wise with a couple of chip kicks and a couple of ricochets of our bodies just falling into their lap every time, the capitalised on it," McCarthy said.
"It's a tough road trip so we were really happy to come away with the points."
The Bulls also got through the clash unscathed.
Tim Hurst led the way in the forwards while Ben Lucas impressed at five-eighth.
In reserve grade, a Nick Bush penalty goal after the final siren sealed a one-point victory over Southcity in a low scoring clash.
The Pickers won 8-7 after the Bulls went ahead thanks to a field goal inside in the final stages.
However, a penalty gifted Young a chance and Bush made no mistake.
League-tag continued their strong form with a 40-0 win over the Bulls.
Young's under 19s won their grand final rematch with Southcity 28-6, three quick tries after halftime secured the win for the Cherrypickers. The under 17s capped a successful day for Young winning 46-18.
