"After nine months of preparation the Sacred Heart/ Mercy Hospital nurses reunion turned out a huge success, 'the best yet' was the cry," of organiser Joy Cameron.
The weekend long event kicked off with a meet and greet at Hennessy Catholic College's restaurant on Saturday afternoon.
Sixty guests enjoyed a 'scrumptious' afternoon tea which was served by Hennessy students.
"Doctor Michael Mullany was a special guest who made a very entertaining speech," Mrs Cameron said.
At 6pm the group attended Mass at St Mary's Catholic Church before the main event, the reunion dinner at the Young Services Club.
One hundred and ten attended for dinner.
"Bill Kearney was emcee and Sister Act were great entertainment, thanks to Sue, Tanya, Lois, Joy and Carmen," Mrs Cameron said.
During the evening a power point presentation of 600 photos was enjoyed over and over allowing those in attendance to reminisce on years gone by.
"The beautiful reunion cake was made by Val Patterson and Corinne Rolls and was shaped like an open book with nurses photos as the icing, it was cut by Sister Ellen, Sister Bernice, Sister Kate and Sister Theresa."
Sixty nurses and their partners attended brunch at Urban Retreat on Sunday morning.
"It was a fantastic gathering and we all hope to gather again in three years, 2022."
Nurses travelled from Queensland, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Forbes, Gosford, Wagga, Griffith, Albury, Mudgee and Young.
