Police in Young are cracking down on drug driving offences as part of ongoing Operation Chrome across the Hume Police District.

Four motorists in Young are awaiting forensic analysis results after allegedly returning a positive detection to an illicit substance within the past seven days.
Young Police Inspector Jacob Reeves said the operation is being coordinated by Young's proactive crime team.
"Young proactive crime team have been focusing on drug driving offences to ensure community safety and to reduce rural road trauma as part of Operation Chrome," Inspector of Young Police Jacob Reeves said.
Two drivers last Thursday produced a positive detection to drugs.
A 32-year-old man registered positive for cannabis after he was stopped on the Olympic Highway about 1pm. He was also handed a caution after police searched the vehicle and found a quantity of cannabis.
Later that afternoon, police stopped a 30-year-old man on Thornhill Street, Young. He was subjected to a roadside drug test which resulted in a positive detection to cannabis.
A 60-year-old male on Friday, July 19 was stopped by police on Gordon Street about 3.25pm. He returned a positive result for methamphetamines.
While on Monday, July 22 a 43-year-old male returned a positive detection for methamphetamines after being pulled over on Elizabeth Street.
All four drivers were suspended for 24 hours and are awaiting forensic analysis results.
"Legal action will follow pending analysis results," Inspector Reeves said.
