Seventy-one students from Hennessy Catholic College graduated while Young High School had 45 students graduate.
Following official proceedings at Hennessy Catholic College hall, principal Trazel Scott wished the Year 12 students all the best, while they mingled with family and friends.
"I think the thing about this year group that sets them apart from other years is their determination to succeed. They've been very focused this year on finding their pathways and getting ready for the HSC," Hennessy Catholic College principal Trazel Scott said
"We're really privileged to have them all here today to graduate. We're very proud of them. My advice to them moving forward is to be your best self, never let life get in the way of their dreams, and to do their very best."
The Young High School graduation was held at the Town Hall with students' family and friends in attendance.
Year 12 adviser Susan Wilkinson was hugely proud of the group.
"A lot have already got jobs and apprenticeships to go to. Some have placements for university. They've been a great bunch of kids and have been really good for the school and really good for the community," Year 12 adviser Susan Wilkinson said.
"They get in and have a go at everything. They've faced a few challenges but always take it head-on.
"Today is to honour the students on behalf of the school and present them with academic awards and outstanding citizenship awards. It's a celebration."
She said the students will celebrate at the graduation dinner on Thursday night at the Young Golf Club, before focusing on the HSC in three weeks time.
"They'll find out their scores and decide which way they're headed. University or TAFE they'll decide a plan," she said.
"They've been an awesome year group and I've enjoyed their company for six years. This is about my ninth or 10th group and this will be one of my most memorable," she added.
The HSC begins on Thursday, October 17.
