Ashley Nathan Nunn, 26, crashed into a tree at the intersection of Queen Street and Marsden Street, Boorowa about 10pm on May 13, before returning a blood alcohol reading of .236.

He was sentenced on charges of high range PCA and drive disqualified by way of an aggregate sentence to an intensive corrections order for a period of two years.

He must abstain from alcohol for two months, and for 48 months must drive with an interlock device installed to his vehicle.

According to police facts, Nunn was taken to Boorowa District Hospital where a blood sample was taken.

Police attended the scene before visiting Nunn in hospital.

He told police "I am disqualified" when police spoke to him.

A 19-year-old man from Young has narrowly avoided a full-time prison sentence for grabbing, verbally abusing and choking another person.

Toby Cameron Ferrari assaulted the victim three times, said they were "dead" and choked the victim between 11.50am and 2pm at Ultimo, Sydney on June 6 this year, facts say.

On the choking charge, Ferrari was sentenced by way of an intensive corrections order for a period of 12 months with a condition to complete 100 hours of community service.

He also received, for the remaining offences, multiple conditional release orders and a community corrections order.

According to facts, the series of assaults occurred at a park, cafe and at a residence at Ultimo. Magistrate Michael O'Brien described the facts as "disturbing".

"No event occurred that ought to precipitate what took place," Magistrate O'Brien said.

"What should have been a pleasant time in your life has resulted in you facing charges that can result in you facing full-time custody. The facts are cause for great concern."
