Hart By The Beach was sent out at a remarkable $4.40 third favourite in the Young Tyrepower Pace (2100m), the third event on the six race program.
Leading at the bell, the Wilmot-trained pacer proved too strong in the finish to defeat rank outsider Harley James and Bold Western for John Vautin.
Race favourites Promise To Rock and last week's impressive Wagga winner Nelly Albertina for Blake Micallef failed to fire and both finished out of a place.
It was Hart By The Beach's maiden victory in just her third race appearance.
Stablemate Rock This Way made it a double for Wilmot in the Aussie Hotel Pace (1720m).
Wilmot gave Rock This Way a beautiful run throughout to record a comfortable win over the more fancied Stylish Grin who had lead throughout with Gosling In Flight for Garth Hoy finishing third.
After resuming at Canberra last week, both of Wilmot's winners were improved by their runs with that form now expected to continue.
Earlier, Wagga hobby trotting trainer and professional thoroughbred trainer Trevor Sutherland secured the opening win of the night with six-year-old gelding Hard To Love.
With a mile rating of 2:02.6, the winner held a five-and-a-half metre advantage over his opposition and in turn gave followers of the regular tipster's advice in collecting a moderate $3.50 on the NSW TAB.
The winning result was again forthcoming in race two when the David Druitt trained Saucy Dreams took control of the race at the bell to hold off a determined finish from another locally trained pacer in Lettuce Pray with outsider Courageous Atom claiming third money.
The mile rating for the 1720m sprint of 1:57.7 was another good performance from the Wagga trained five-year-mare who has now recorded eight wins in her career.
In race four, Canberra-trained pacer Mo Farah was expected to improve on his disappointing run at Canberra last time out when unplaced and they were not far off the mark. Scott Osmond drove his usual front running drive after beginning well with the $3.20 chance and controlled the race throughout to defeat Temora Reactor and Watch Me Rock in a thrilling finish. The winner has a four win record to his name.
The final race of the night once again produced a win for the selectors when the lightly raced mare Rolloversweetie driven by Amy Day led throughout to win by a convincing three metres over the recently arrived New Zealand mare Opal with another outsider in Shadow And Roses claiming third prize.
The winner was bred by Karen Skimmings (Glendenning) and had been handed over to current trainer Corey Parker some time back.
Young will race again next Tuesday night.
