Sami has been juggling studying at University of Newcastle and writing music with co-writers in Australia, Canada and America, and could begin recording her third album in 2020.
Her band SAMI & The Jets has been performing two to three shows a week around the Hunter, Newcastle and Port Stephens and Central Coast.
"We focus largely on country-rock and classics, keeping everyone up on their feet all night long dancing and singing. It's a lot of fun," she said.
"I also have been writing a lot, by myself and with other co-writers in Australia, Canada and America so am looking at recording my third album in 2020."
Sami's first album Every Passing Minute was recorded during 2013, before she toured Australia from Port Fairy in Victoria to Airlie Beach in Queensland.
"I celebrated my 18th birthday in 2014, and two weeks later, started my life on the road. This began with four months touring Victoria, to three months in NSW and finishing with five months in Qeensland. I performed 110 shows in my first year," she said.
"In 2015, I sold the caravan to upgrade to a 2001 Toyota Hiace Commuter van. We decked it out with a bed, put my equipment in and I hit the road again. I performed a little more than 120 shows that year."
Her first international tour was 2016 starting in New Zealand for three weeks as part of a showcase, then Canada for six weeks for a solo tour.
"I purchased a van in Canada and travelled back for my second Canadian tour in 2017. There, I performed almost 30 shows in six weeks from Calgary in Alberta to Vancouver in British Columbia - and everywhere in between," she said.
Last year, Sami performed 140 shows across Australia and Canada in the year.
"I am continuing this in 2019, expanding my performances from solo to both solos and with a band. I am loving it more than ever and can only see myself growing, learning and travelling more," she said.
Sami is also studying a Bachelor of Communications, doing a double major in Journalism and Public Relations at the University of Newcastle, while also performing full-time.
