Coyotes crush Centrals to get back on track

The Coyotes were too good for Cootamundra-club Central Hotel at Alfred Oval, restricting the visitors to just 66 after posting 154 at Alfred Oval.

The result is their second win of the season and their first since round one of the season.

Batting first, Coyotes opener Smithie Goodman (42) provided stability while Geoff Palmer (18), Ben Murray (27) and Mick Ashton (29 not out) added valuable runs.

Daniel Rankin (3-28) was the best with the ball for Centrals.

Following the break, Jason Hall ripped through the Centrals top order removing the first four batsmen, Michael Sargent (7), Aaron Cronin (3), Daniel Rankin (0) and Adam Twyford (7), for scores below 10.

Hall continued to dismantle the Centrals batting as the visitors were bowled out for 66.

Mick Cronin (11) was the only batsman to reach double figures.

Hall (6-21) received support from Trent Shean (3-26).

The result lifts Coyotes above Centrals and just two points adrift of Temora in third, who forfeited their match against Young S and C Club Blues on Saturday.

The Blues are now joint leaders with Cootamundra Crusaders.

The competition moves to Twenty/20 rounds from this weekend.

The Blues and Coyotes are scheduled to meet on Saturday at Gus Smith Oval, while Cootamundra Crusaders and Centrals play at Albert Park.

Meanwhile in the division two competition, Burrangong defeated Temora Tigers, Shamrock Hotel beat Stockinbingal, Criterion Hotel were too good for Cootamundra Magpies and Temora Renegades defeated S and C Club Saints.
