Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) has issued a visitor policy for all MLHD hospitals to restrict visitor numbers to one visitor per patient at any time.

"We are appealing to members of the public to stay away from hospitals and aged care facilities if they feel unwell, or have symptoms of cold and flu," Executive Director Medical Service Dr Lenert Bruce said.
"We can all play a part in slowing the spread of the virus by reducing contact between people unless absolutely necessary, especially those in our population who may be more vulnerable or susceptible to the illness because of age or weakened immunity."
Visitors are also advised not to bring children under 12 years of age to the hospital.
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, sore throat and dry cough. Symptoms will generally appear 3-4 days after exposure to the virus but can be up to 14 days later.
Minimise travel, increase personal awareness around hand hygiene and practice social distancing.
Meanwhile, MLHD announced on Thursday there are no cases in Young or the MLHD area. MLHD said it's confident and prepared if any COVID-19 cases show up in Young.
Local health facilities wish to reassure residents they are well prepared.
"MLHD is well prepared to care for people who may be diagnosed with COVID-19," a spokesperson said earlier in the week.
"70 specialist nurses and nurse educators from across the district together with staff from partner organisations have undertaken training to refresh their skills in infection control and public health measures."
The skilled nurses and educators will be travelling throughout the MLHD area to provide support and training to local hospital staff and as a way to maximise the safety of healthcare workers as well as the community.
"In order to slow the spread of the virus, members of the community play an important role," the spokesperson said.
"People are asked to ensure they clean their hands thoroughly and regularly, avoid close contact with others."
