Young Junior Rugby League president Ben Mott has given hope to local Junior Cherrypickers with a potential date for a return to the field.

"We would just like to check in with you all and let you know as much as we can without being able to guarantee anything with great certainty," Mott said.
"The NSWRL has put out an update which I'm sure most would of heard by now has us planning towards kicking off Community Rugby League from July 18 all going well and subject to Government advice at that time.
Earlier this week Mott said he received an email from the Directors of Group 9 Junior Rugby League which said the Group 9 Junior Rugby League executive had met and discussed what play might look like when they are able to move forward with the season.
According to Group 9 Junior Rugby League the possible start date will be July 18 with nine weeks of comeptition in a row up until September 12.
The proposed season will have no finals with teams playing for fun and participation.
"These are the current guidelines we are working under and we must reiterate to everybody as soon as anything comes to hand we will forward it but to be clear Government guidelines allowing we will hopefully resume games from July 18th but this is not definite," Mott said.
