From the Northern Territory outback to the far reaches of northern Queensland and the depths of NSW's Blue Mountains, the latest instalment of Explore will guide you through some of the country's best Indigenous tours, where you can learn about the Dreamtime, bush tucker, Aboriginal art and more.
Chef and Arrernte man Bob Taylor, for instance, will prepare a traditional three-course meal, cooked in an earth oven, as you sit under the stars in the MacDonnell Ranges. Or find out how you can join in the Garma Festival on the Gove Peninsula, with the Yolngu people of north-east Arnhem Land.
Whether you are free to take off on an interstate holiday right now, or are planning for future possibilities, you might also want to consider a bush experience of another kind.
Deep in the Kosciuszko wilderness, John Rudd has been running horse treks through the Snowy Mountains for the past 50 years.
Cantering through the high country, sleeping in a swag under the stars and spying grey brumbies emerging from the scrub, it's a magical way to spend a long weekend in this part of NSW.
Rudd, 85, who's often described as a real-life Man from Snowy River, runs his Reynella Rides business from his family homestead at Adaminaby and says a holiday on horseback is a "real leveller".
