He has lived in the Goulburn area and he has extensive experience in commanding country police districts, including the Monaro PD and Deniliquin PD.
Superintendent Condon has highlighted domestic violence, property crime, road trauma and youth diversion as crucial areas and ones he particularly wants to target.
He added that strengthening relationships across the border in the ACT, surrounding police districts and most importantly with communities was "vital to police doing their job".
He said he would prioritise his staff being part of the community and accessible to their community.
"We can only reduce crime by working with the community and the community working with us. We live in the community and are part of it," he said.
He referenced the rise in "opportunistic crimes" as an area where better communication with community members could see positive results. He said he'd like to eliminate road deaths.
