More than 400,000 tonnes of grain have been received by GrainCorp sites across the Young district, with many sites recording record breaking harvests.

Maimuru, Greenethorpe and Cunningar were only a few of a number of sites to set new records.
GrainCorp's Area Manager Tim McColl said this year's harvest had exceeded expectations.
"GrainCorp's sites in the Hilltops region have had a welcome turnaround this harvest after several years of drought, collectively taking over 400,000 tonnes of grain," area manager Mr Tim McColl said.
"Among these sites, Cunningar, Greenethorpe, Noonbinna, Nyrang Creek, Maimuru and Cootamundra, recorded their all-time best harvest season.
"Some of these sites, such as Cunningar, which has received a record 147,000 tonnes, beating its previous site receival record of 99,000 tonnes during 16/17 (2016/2017) harvest, is still seeing some grain trickle in from on-farm storage.
"While we had some delays with rain and windy weather, growers in the region were very positive - for many, this was their best harvest in several years and we want to thank them for working with us."
Cunningar Site Manager Jamie Asgill said the main commodities received at Cunningar were canola and wheat.
"During the peak of harvest, wheat was coming in very quickly, too. During the last bumper season 16/17 harvest, we were getting up to 10,000 tonnes of wheat a day. However, we were receiving up to 13,000 tonnes a day this harvest. In fact, in a 36-hour period, we received nearly 40,000 tonnes alone," Mr Asgill said.
"The new rail-loading system at Cunningar enabled us to cater for the large volumes of grain receivals coming in. It has the ability to load a train in under four hours and still receive grain at the same time. It can also hold up to 40 wagons. Previously, it could not even hold half of that.
"Plus, with a 24-hour turnaround from Cunningar to Port Kembla, our site capability increased to ensure we were transporting grain as efficiently as possible."
