Members from the Country Education Foundation (CEF) of Young received a donation of $2000 which will go towards continuing their work with the students of Young.
The presentation was made at Saturday's market at Anderson Park, with Farmer's Market president Sue Dunn meeting with Leanne Parkman and Adi Jhunijhunwala from CEF.
The money was raised from stallholder fees.
The CEF are a non-profit organisation focused on providing financial support to rural and regional youth aged 16 to 25 who are interested in pursuing further education, training, and career progression.
Students are eligible for funding regardless of whether they attend university, private colleges, TAFE or other education institutions.
The CEF Young branch provides support to students from Hennessy Catholic College, Young High School and the Young TAFE and all monies donated are distributed through an application and interview process to recipients who demonstrate genuine financial need and commitment.
In January this year, the committee allocated $16,800 to 12 worthy students who are commencing their studies in 2021.
The Young Region Farmer's Market donation will go towards the CEF's fundraising efforts for the 2022 academic year.
Once again the committee of the Triple 000 Golf Day will be supporting the CEF at their annual event on Friday, February 26 and last year they donated $5000 to the cause.
After several stalled attempts due to COVID-19 the CEF committee hope to hold a community fundraising event on October 23.
