Young’s Harry Fitzpatrick and Liam Carnley have been selected in this year’s final 20 of the Group 9 Under 12s Northern representative side.
They are among players from Wagga, Temora, Gundagai and Cootamundra.
The final 20-man squads for the Under 13s, Under 14s and Under 15s are set to be decided tomorrow as dozens of players converge on Greenfield Park in Albury.
It’s Northern versus Southern in these age groups to select the final combined squad and a remaining 19 from Young will have their boots strapped tight and their game faces on.
There are nine local players in the Under 13s Northern side vying for a final spot this weekend, who include James Schiller, Nick Hall, Jacob Lucas, Bailey Steed, William Hills, Henry Berry, Oliver Pettit, Jack Staff and Thomas Fletcher.
Jonty Langfield will be the only Under 14s Northern player flying the flag for Young tomorrow while another nine in the Under 15s Northern have high hopes for selection.
So far the Under 15s players from Young who have qualified for tomorrow’s trial game include Kye Tiederman, Pat Smith, Connor Hall, Blake McGrath, Will Quinn, Jake Baker, Chris O’Connor, Will Canellis and Braigon Forde.
The first of the trial games will begin at 11am with the Under 13s.
Under 14s will be at 12noon and Under 15s at 1pm.
The Under 12s will still have the chance to squeeze in some last minute practice even though their squads have been selected, playing a game of their own the weekend.
Their match, also Northern against Southern, takes place prior to the trials at 10am.
